From the Senior PastorMarc's Update I’m sure many of you have been distressed by the childcare crisis that has come to light this past week in Victoria. The scope and scale of the crisis has highlighted (again) the importance and challenges of protecting children. As a community of faith we have adopted the Safe Church Standards and have received our Safe Church Health Check by demonstrating our commitment to those standards. One of our values is that we want to Trust-Worthy. This means that we earn and maintain the trust of our community through the way we do things. Safe Church Standards are an important part of this and our commitment to these standards requires all of us to be aware and alert to acting in a Trust-Worthy way. More specifically, I wanted to remind you of the members of our Safe Church Team: Marjy Robertson, Greg Williams, Susan Kusch, and John Cox. You can learn more on our website under the Safe Church tab. The tragic news this week reminds us of how important this is and about how vigilant we need to be as we seek to be as Trust-Worthy as we can be in order that people might hear the good news about Jesus! Marc Rader | Senior Pastor |

Elder EditorialA word of encouragement from our elders Do you need encouragement to keep serving the Lord? When nothing seems to be happening when you put in all your time and effort? Then remember the story of Peter in Luke 5: 4-11 when he’d been fishing all night and not caught anything and then Jesus said let out your nets again. Peter was obedient to Jesus and his nets now were overflowing with fish! That’s not going to happen every time is it? But we wouldn’t want to miss the call to obey Him when it is a special time. Meanwhile we work hard and hone our skills and keep our ‘equipment’ ready and listen for the Master’s voice. We serve a God ‘who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power at work in us”. (Eph 3:20) So hang in there, you never know when God is going to use your faithful service in an extraordinary way. (Did Vicki Sherry accidentally meet the Pastor from Lismore Baptist church, who then links in with Hopefield …..watch that space for sure. What will God do there with that partnership?)
