Marc's Update

If you haven’t yet heard, we surpassed our target for May Mission Month 2026. Our target was $200,000 and the final tally was $203,600. It’s always encouraging when we surpass our target, but this year, with increasing financial pressures, it was all the more so! Generosity when things are tight, demonstrates a heart posture grounded in a trust of God’s provision.
Nearly 150 different individuals and families donated to one or more of the projects - another of our criteria of “success” - which demonstrates a deep commitment to support the work of God around the world.
Our final criteria is that the offerings to our Ministry Budget doesn’t significantly fall behind. We are a bit behind but are ahead of where we were at the same time last year which is also encouraging.
Thanks to all who participated in May Mission Month 2026. Continue to pray that the financial resources we have provided would contribute significant to seeing lives changed by Jesus!

P.S. Just in terms of our Ministry Budget, if you are in line to receive a tax return, please consider giving a part of it to help us catch up!

Elder Editorial

Elder Editorial

Earlier in the year I started a plan to read the entire Bible in a year. At day 114 I am  knee deep in 2 Samuel and David’s Psalms.

As I’ve been reading the narrative of Israel and their relationship with God, so often the moments of meeting happen on mountain tops. Last Sunday Mark preached about the calling of the Apostles, and the significance of going up a mountain do it.

However, I reflect that Jesus has come down from heaven to meet us. Wherever we are. There’s no need for us to climb up to him. He has come to us.

So often I find myself trying to do everything in my own strength. Climbing mountains and building towers to try and be where I think I need to be to encounter God. I often find my lack of progress frustrating, and always tiring.

It’s when I rest, and rely on God meeting me where I am, that I feel his presence most.

In Psalm 130, David expressed it beautifully.

“If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you. I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭130‬:‭3‬-‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬
