Last Sunday at our Annual General Meeting the membership adopted three strategic directions for the next five years. This was the final act in our year-long process of discernment and, as such, was a pretty big deal.

I want to thank (again) all of you who participated in this process and encourage each of you to do two things.

First, to commit these to prayer. If we are to truly become a community of faith that nurtures followers of Jesus, is for our local community, and helps people belong to God’s family and to find their place in his mission we will require the Spirit’s work in our midst.

Second, to begin to consider where God might be inviting you to be part of these strategic directions. Ask the Lord to open your heart to how you might be involved and be on the look out for the opportunity. I am expectant that as we begin to mobilise ourselves to move in these directions that the Lord will do some amazing things in our midst and I hope that you feel the same way.

Our next steps will be taken in the new year as we audit and assess where we are and what needs our first attention and you’ll be hearing a lot more about it in the new year.

In the meantime, let us prepare our hearts to join in God’s plans and purposes for us as a community of faith!
