Message from the Senior Pastor

Marc's Update

This week Christians all around the world are observing Holy Week. While the nature of our observance may differ, the focus of our meditation is the same: the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
As a community of faith we are paying particular attention to Matthew’s account of these events. The readings for Tenebrae and the sermon texts for Friday and Sunday will be all be taken from the first gospel. I have, therefore, been spending time reacquainting myself with the emphases in Matthew’s narrative and I’m looking forward to sharing some of what I have found over the weekend.
My prayer has been that we - for whom these stories are often very, very familiar - might, by the power of the Holy Spirit, receive a fresh insight, a deeper understanding, and a new encounter with Jesus as we reflect on these foundational texts once again.
May God bless you this Easter season.

Building Works Update 9

02/04/2026

The structural work is completed. We are now solely into outfit works such as electrical, air conditioning, carpentry, tiling, ground floor kitchenette, cabinetry, toilet, painting and floor patching/leveling. The current preschool has a new store area and entry door off the upstairs mezzanine. A replacement compact switchboard has been assembled to replace the 1960s vintage board in the breezeway. Later next week or the week after there will be power interruptions as that is connected.

GBC is contracting floor coverings, sorting safety signage and modifications to the alarm systems prior to certification.

On practical completion (estimated May) we would appreciate volunteer help for detail cleaning, moving furniture back into the new spaces, restocking storage, hanging wall items and sorting excess furniture and stores for disposal.

Alpha Commencing 17th May

Alpha Commencing 17th May

GBC will be hosting an Alpha course, commencing on 17th May. Alpha is a great opportunity to explore faith for yourself or with a friend or relative who might be interested in asking some questions.

My invitation to you today is to start wondering… do you have questions about faith you’d like to explore, or is there someone in your world that might?
