2 Chronicles 20:1-4

As we continue our series exploring how the people of God discerned his invitation we turn to the example of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, and the people of Jerusalem who waited for God under immense pressure.

Jehoshaphat and his people waited for the Lord in a crisis rather than scrambling to solve their problem. This ability to wait under pressure was developed in the normal rhythms and patterns of following God. The seeds sown in the every day situations bore fruit in a crisis. As individuals and a community of faith let me encourage us to do what we can in our day-to-day lives to trust the Lord so that when the moment of trouble comes we will be able to imitate Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah.
