A message from Roxane
This Sunday as part of our morning service, we're beginning a new five-week teaching series called A Great Cloud of Witnesses, inspired by the opening words of Hebrews 12:
Hebrews 12 follows the well-known "Hall of Faith" in Hebrews 11, where men and women are commended for their trust in God. In our series, we'll focus on five remarkable women from the Old Testament—the widow of Zarephath, Miriam, Abigail, Hagar and Rebekah—whose lives still have much to teach us today. Their stories are far more than ancient history! They show us God's faithfulness in the midst of uncertainty, suffering, and both extraordinary and ordinary life events. Their lives are wonderfully different, and none of them is perfect. Some display remarkable courage or wisdom; others remind us that God sees those who feel forgotten, works through flawed people, and remains faithful even when life takes unexpected turns. Together, their stories help us see more clearly who God is and what it looks like to trust him. As we listen to their stories, our prayer is that they will encourage us to keep running the race of faith with perseverance, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. We'd love you to join us over these next five weeks as we learn from the lives of these five women and allow their stories to encourage and challenge us as we follow Jesus today. See you Sunday! Elder EditorialThe priority of Worship Heavenly Father, we praise You because You alone are worthy of all honour, glory and power. You are our Creator, our Redeemer and our faithful Shepherd. There is no one like You, and we delight in lifting our hearts in worship before You. Thank You for your unfailing love, Your abundant grace, and your constant presence with us. Thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, for the indwelling of Your Holy Spirit, and for the privilege of knowing You personally. Every good gift we have comes from Your gracious hand, and we are deeply grateful. Lord, teach us to place worship above every other pursuit. May our love for You be wholehearted, shaping every thought, word and action. Guard us from allowing busyness, achievement or even Christian service to take the place that belongs to You alone. Instead, may every act of service flow naturally from hearts captivated by Your beauty and filled with gratitude for Your goodness. Help us to walk each day in conscious awareness of Your presence. May our lives be marked by continual praise, quiet thanksgiving and joyful adoration. As we open Your Word, draw near in confession, and listen for Your voice, deepen our love for You and transform us into the likeness of Christ. And when we gather with Your people, may our worship overflow with sincerity and joy, reflecting lives that have already been walking with You throughout the week. May everything we do bring glory to Your holy name. Amen Greg Williams | Elder |

SMS Messages Update from GBC
From 1 July 2026, new Australian Government rules require SMS sender names to be registered on the SMS Sender ID Register. Gymea Baptist Church occasionally uses SMS via a company call Clickatell to notify attendees of urgent updates and volunteer reminders. GBC has submitted to have 'Gymea Baps' as the verified sender name to appear. This new regulation is to help to prevent scams. If you receive a text that looks like it is from the church but it says 'Unverified,' then do not click on any links within the text as this is may not be from GBC. Call the church office if you are in doubt. |

New Opportunities to Serve
If you are a person who desires to be on-purpose and others-focussed and prefers a behind the scene role, then I want to chat to you! We have two opportunities for serving that are ‘behind the scenes’ but will make a HUGE impact for others. Do you love seeing a welcoming space ready for people to meet with Jesus? Do you love seeing people engage in worship on a Sunday? We need help preparing the auditorium space to be welcoming and ready on a Sunday for both our morning and evening services. We are looking for about 10 able bodied team members who could help set up and move chairs on a Sunday. We would love to have a team who could commit to arriving on Sunday morning by 8:30am to set up for the morning service, and a team who would be willing to set up for the evening service either after the morning service around 11:15am or before the evening service at 4:00pm. If you are interested in joining this team or finding out more information, then complete the Volunteer Expression of Interest or chat to Marjy, GBC Serve Team Leader. Do you love seeing people come together and build community? After our PM Service, we share a meal together. We have an amazing team of cooks who prepare a simple meal each Sunday evening. To assist that team of cooks, we are looking for someone who would have the capacity to shop for the ingredients for those meals and have those ingredients in the GBC kitchen by 2:00pm each Sunday. All purchases are reimbursed by GBC and a shopping list is provided. If you are interested in finding out more about this role then then complete the Volunteer Expression of Interest or chat to Marjy, GBC Serve Team Leader.
