Note: During school holidays, Kidzone is in recess, however there are activities always available for children who attend church services during this time.
Kidzone runs during our 8.30am and 10.30am services for all children. We offer age appropriate Bible teaching, crafts, games, singing and drama.
A break-out room with window looking into our main auditorium for nursing mothers or parents of fussing babies to still participate in our service in a comfortable environment, while taking care of their own child.
We offer a lounge area upstairs with viewing window into the main auditorium and audio feed so parents can hear the service. Toys are provided for children to play with and parents are invited to make use of this comfortable area with any unsettled babies or toddlers.
Crèche (0-3 Years)
Crèche is a loving environment where children feel safe to leave their parents. We offer age appropriate toys, movies, snack, change facilities and kind leaders who will assist your child as they begin to separate from parents.
Preschool Kidzone (3-5 Years)
Our preschool group start the morning with free play, then gather together for a structured learning time featuring songs, Bible story, crafts and tactile experiences and have a lot of fun and they learn and play together. Dedicated leaders and our committed parent helpers look forward to meeting you and your child.
Bible Bags Available to Borrow
Why not borrow one of our Preschool Bible Bags to take home and swap next week? Bible Bags are a fun way for parents to explore a Bible story with their child. Bags feature books, games, activities and questions and are a lot of fun!
Kidzone K-6 begins with a choice of quiet or rowdy games then we gather together for a welcome time with songs and stories or drama and a memory verse.
At 10.30 only, children then split into the following age-appropriate groups for stories, crafts, discussions, prayer and time with their leaders:
K & 1 / 2 & 3 / 4 & 5 girls / 4 & 5 boys
Kidzone aims to help disciple children as they grow more like Jesus and is available for children in kindergarten through to Year 5 or 6. Year 6 are invited to join JAM, our next age level on Sundays.
(Note: Some Year 6 children chose to stay in Kidzone until they are comfortable to move into the next age group).
Jam is for kids in Years 6-8 and is run by the Youth Ministry Department.
Playtime aims to provide a safe and caring environment where children, parents and carers find friendship and support and enjoy participating together in activities each week. Our groups operate five days a week from 10am to midday at Gymea and Grays Point Campuses. For more information and vacancies, contact coordinator Meddwyn Hinton.
Across The Way
Across the Way is where Year 5 and 6 students get together, have some food, play lots of great games and learn about God in a fun way. This group meets every Friday night at church from 5.30 to 7.00pm. Click for more information.
Reaching Our Schools
Crèche and Preschool Ministry run through the year from February to December.
K-6 children are welcome to come into the adult service during the school holidays for worship and announcements at the beginning, after which a team of parent volunteers will be hosting games, movies, stories and crafts during the sermon. If families prefer to worship together, that is fine by us! It is better to be in church and be a bit noisy than not be there at all.
Scripture in Schools (Special Religious Education or SRE) is a wonderful opportunity to teach the Bible to students in our Public School system on a weekly basis. Gymea Baptist currently teaches at Gymea North Public School and Kareela Public School. Classes run for 30 minutes and we use the approved Baptist Association GodSpace curriculum. We are members of the Sutherland Board of Christian Education.
If you would like to be involved in SRE either as a teacher, helper or prayer support, please contact the church office.
