The Mission Action Group (MAG) was established with the goals of:

  1. Raising the profile of Mission within Gymea Baptist Church,
  2. Establishing a closer relationship between the church family and their supported missionaries in order to better understand and address needs,
  3. Promoting May Mission Month which raises funds for mission projects,
  4. Encouraging more people to gain first hand experience of, and become personally responsible for mission,
  5. Missionaries financially or prayerfully supported by Gymea Baptist Church include:
  • Brett Davis (International Director - Christian Surfers)
  • Joan Eley (with WEC)
  • Lorraine Green (Campus Crusade for Christ based at Sydney University)
  • Cliff Lewis and Rod Cuthbertson (mens ministry in country NSW)
  • Joe and Alice Simfukwe (teach at Bible College in Zambia)
  • Gary and Jan Speckman (Sports Ministry and Counselling - Campus Crusade for Christ).
  • Shane and Ruth Sparks (with Pioneers)
