Leadership Development

As part of our approach to leadership development in 2009, we will be inviting you to participate in a journaling process.  The ability to reflect on your leadership practices as part of a learning process is an important skill of any leader and will assist you in developing your leadership skills.

To get the most out of this journaling process we would like you to do the following:

Complete the readings and reflection questions on a regular basis.
Meet regularly (e.g. once a month) with a peer leader or team leader to discuss your reflections.

August - Managing Risk:

You may recall that one of the leadership skills we discussed in our leadership conference in February this year was managing risk.  As this is a highly specialised area we have decided that we will bring in some experts to run a workshop on this area.  The workshop will be run by Childsafe (a unit of the Baptist Union of NSW).  The course will cover subjects such as Duty of Care, Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management and Child Protection.  The course is being run on August 15.  As a leader at GBC we believe it is mandatory that you complete this training.
