Senior Pastor - Karl Faase
Karl Faase Karl Faase has been the Senior Pastor of Gymea Baptist since 1996.  Karl also has had wider leadership experience including being part of the inception and leadership of the Australian Arrow Leadership Development Program, and also co founding the Media Project, “Jesus – all about life”. Karl’s major wider ministries now are through Olive Tree Media which produces radio spots played around Australia & internationally as well as producing DVD/TV series. These TV series include “Towards Belief”, “The Family Series”, “Face to Face” and “The Men’s Series” also played around Australia and internationally. Karl speaks regularly across Australia and also sits on several boards. Karl is married to Jane and has three adult children - Timothy, Ainsley and Ellie.

Associate Pastor - Marc Rader
Marc has been on staff at Gymea since 1997 as the Youth Pastor.  He has ministered in a variety of roles since and is currently the Preaching & Teaching Pastor (part-time).  The other part of his time is taken up as a faculty member at Morling College, the Baptist theological college of NSW & ACT where he teaches in Biblical Studies and Preaching.  Originally from Canada, Marc is married to Nicole (an Aussie) and they have three daughters, Amaris, Amelia and Lucy.

Associate Pastor - Angelo Giovas
Angelo is the Pastoral Care Minister of our church. He is married to Anne and has three children. His role includes the oversight of the Adult Life Groups and the Welcoming and Integration of new people to our church. His passion is to see people living and loving one another as Jesus lived and loved his disciples.

Grays Point Community Church - Andrew Harrison

 
Drew is working alongside of the other leaders and members of Grays Point Community Church  to serve and contribute to the Grays Point area as an active and viable Christian witness. With a particular focus on building relationships with key community groups and facilitating Sunday morning services.
Drew is married to Sarah and they have a young son, Emrik.

 

H30 Church - Jamie Freeman

 
Jamie has been on staff at Gymea since 2007.  At the beginning of 2011, Jamie and his wife Ainsley moved with a team to Sydney’s Northern Beaches to follow God’s call to plant a church. This was done in partnership with GBC and the Baptist Union of NSW/ACT.  His passion is to mobilise communities of believers to live for Jesus and influence culture for Christ.  Alongside his leadership at H3O Church, Jamie is the co-founder of OneWorship - a worship ministry movement of the Baptist Union. He is a husband to Ainsley and father to Levi.

Worship Coordinator - Ryan Day

 
Ryan works part-time as the worship coordinator at GBC. This involves leading the team of nearly 100 musicians and technical volunteers as well as planning and coordinating Sunday services. Ryan is married to Julie and they have two sons, Joshua and Caleb. Ryan is passionate about creating opportunities for people to connect with God in worship and for that to overflow "from Sunday into Monday" as a lifestyle of seeing, praising and serving God in everyday circumstances. Youth Ministry Co-ordinator - Alana McAleer

 
Alana joined the GBC team in 2012, however she grew up calling Gymea Baptist Church home with her family (Tim, Josephine and big brother John). Having grown up through the Youth Ministry of GBC, gradually accepting more and more responsibility, Alana has a passion to see the lives of teenagers transformed by the renewing power of the Gospel. In her new role she coordinates GBC’s programs that are dedicated to late primary and high school students – predominately our Friday night programs Across the Way and Revolution. Alana seeks to empower the youth of Gymea Baptist Church to live lives of faith each day.

Children's Ministry Coordinator - Roxane Lawler

 
Roxane joined the team at GBC in 2014, and works part -time as the Children's Ministry Coordinator K-6.  Roxane has been involved in Children's Ministry in various capacities since 1994, during which time she has worked as a Camp Counsellor, delivered Child Protection training modules, worked with churches to improve their children's ministry, spoken at school assemblies with her puppets, and coordinated children's ministry at church. Roxane is passionate about how important it is to share Jesus with children and families.  Roxane is married to Mark and they have three children, Sommerset (9), Emerson (7) and Evander (5).

Early Childhood Coordinator - Becky Douglass
Becky joined the GBC Children's Ministry staff in 2012. She loves working with young children and enjoys overseeing the Creche and Preschool classes on Sunday morning. When not at GBC, Becky works with Logosdor which partners with other organisations around the world to provide children's ministry training and resources to churches. Originally from the United States, Becky, husband Scott and adult son Ian now call Australia home.

Playtime - Meddwyn Hinton
Meddwyn started attending Playtime at GBC with her eldest child Kiera in 2002. Seeing the value of the ministry for supporting, and connecting with, young families she joined the Playtime leadership team in 2003 and continued to attend with her other two children, Zielle and Garrick. Meddwyn started in the Playtime Coordinator role this year. This involves overseeing the team of GBC parents who run playtime every morning of the week. She wants to see parents and carers develop great relationships with young kids, and with God, that last for life. Meddwyn also teaches Science part-time and is married to Peter.

Administration Manager - Karen Russell
Karen Russell Karen has been with the team since early 2010. After a career with Qantas, she jumped at the opportunity to serve God and her community by bringing her skills to the role of Administration Manager where she’s responsible for the day to day administration of GBC.  Karen is married to David.  They have 5 children Kristen, Dean, Scott, Blake and Christiana.

Administration Assistant - Samantha Hopkins
    Samantha has been a part of the evening community at GBC since 2005 and has been leading at the youth group since leaving high school. She joined the staff team as administration assistant in 2012.

Bookkeeper - Theny Johnston

 
Theny joined GBC’s staff in March 2004 as the bookkeeper. Born in Bali, Indonesia Theny migrated to Australia with her family when she was 6 years old. She has been married to Brett since 1992 and has a son, Samuel.

Assistant Bookkeeper - Jenny Beckmann

 
Jenny has been a finance volunteer to GBC since 1999.  As the Assistant Bookkeeper she looks after offerings and May Mission Month donations.  Jenny also provides bookkeeping services to Southern Community Welfare and other organisations.
