Gymea Baptist | empower / love / engage

Gymea Baptist is a Christian Church connected nationally and internationally to the Baptist denomination.  We are a contemporary church, evangelical in orientation and are serving our community and helping them to know Jesus.  Gymea Baptist seeks to communicate God’s love and care for every individual as expressed in His Word, the Bible.  At the heart of all we do as a Church is the desire to help people to Love God in all aspects of their lives.  To Love God is not just a “feeling”, we encourage people to be empowered to grow in their relationship with Jesus and become more like Him.  Alongside of the process of being empowered and growing in maturity in Christ we desire for people in our church to be engaged in the world and to be part of God’s work in this world and in the lives of others.  (Mark 12:30-31).

Our Vision and Mission are not about building the `Empire of Gymea Baptist Church’, but rather seeking God so that He will build His kingdom and that we would be a part of this.  By stating these, we are not wanting to dictate what God must do, or limit what God may want to do.  We are attempting to be clear about what we believe God is calling us to attempt, in cooperation with the Spirit.
